Saudi Arabia is celebrating its 80th National Day today, marking the unification of the country by late King Abdul Aziz in 1932. A variety of events have been planned to mark the event as both Saudis and expatriates are celebrating the event all over the Kingdom. Expatriates including Indians living in the country have offered their congratulations to Saudi citizens and expressed their eagerness to continue to be part of development efforts of Saudi Arabia in years to come. On the occasion of the National Day, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz spoke of the Kingdom’s accomplishments in various fields and also highlighted the fight against terrorism. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, usually known as Saudi Arabia, is the largest Arab country of the Middle East and its economy is mainly petroleum-based as roughly 75 percent of budget revenues come from the oil industry. The oil industry comprises about 45 percent of Saudi Arabia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and it has about one-fifth of the world’s proven total petroleum reserves.
