Satyarthi urges NHRC to ensure justice to marginalised sections of society

Noble laureate Kailash Satyarthi has urged the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC to take more pro-active steps to ensure justice to the marginalised sections of the society. Addressing the foundation day function of NHRC in New Delhi this evening, Mr Satyarthi said, enforcement of law is most important and it needs social, political and administrative will. He said, NHRC has been doing remarkable work to protect the human rights in the country. <br/><br/>Mr Satyarthi said, the Millennium Development Goals, MDGs, was not fully successful in achieving it's target as a strong component of human rights was missing in it. The Noble laureate expressed happiness over the recent decision of United Nations General Assembly to include many components of human rights in its Sustainable Development Goals SDGs. He said whole world including India is entering a new phase of development and development can't be achieved without ensuring human rights and peace . <br/><br/>In his address NHRC Chairperson, Retd Justice Cyriac Joseph said, protection of human rights and democracy has to be a way of life to achieve a democratic society. He lauded the efforts of civic society for protecting human rights in the country.
