Srivastava for charges of murder, conspiracy and rioting.The case was earlier probed by the local police, but following the Supreme Court order in 2008, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by retired CBI chief R K Raghavan took over the probe.65 accused in this case were granted bail by various courts, while eight are languishing in jail. During the trial, the prosecution examined 112 witnesses.Strict security arrangements have been made in Mehsana as a precautionary measure.
