Union Minister of Ports, Shipping &amp; Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal today visited his home constituency Majuli in the aftermath of the tragic boat accident in the river Brahmaputra on September 8.<br />''<br />''Talking to media persons, Sonowal said that being the public representative of the river island district, he will always stand with the people of Majuli. He informed that Central and State governments will work in tandem to dredge the river Brahmaputra so that Ro Pax vessels&nbsp; could travel between&nbsp; Majuli and Jorhat during winter.<br />''<br />''The Union Minister also took a boat inspection of the accident site and directed the officials to strictly adhere to the safety norms of passengers travelling&nbsp; in boats and ferries.<br />''<br />''Sonowal later visited the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital to meet the injured persons.<br />''<br />''The Union Minister was accompanied by Ministers of Government of Assam, Chandramohan Patowary and Bimal Borah, Members of Parliament Pradan Baruah and K.
