The writ petition filed in the Lahore High Court by Awais Sheikh, Counsel of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh, seeking urgent medical aid to his client has been adjourned till Sept. 20. Sarabjit is on death row following his conviction for his alleged involvement in bomb attacks in Pakistan in 1990.Informing this to AIR Jalandhar Correspondent, Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur said that her brother’s advocate has put up the case of medical aid to Sarabjit, before the judge in the Lahore High court, today, who has given Sept. 20th as the next date of hearing.Sarabjit is said to be suffering from heart disease and other physical ailments including depression because of being in solitary confinement in a room without proper sunshine. Meanwhile, the next hearing on a petition challenging a possible presidential pardon for Sarabjit Singh is also on Sept. 20th.
