The Prime Minister's special envoy on Climate Change, Mr Shyam Saran has said that there is an urgent need for shifting to bio gas for cooking purposes in the rural areas. He said that this is not only the cheapest but the cleanest form of energy for cooking. Speaking at the 6th convention of the Grameen Gyan Abhiyan in New Delhi today Mr Shyam Saran said that in this context more attention will have be paid in the area animal husbandry. <br/><br/>Noted Agricultural Scientist Mr Swaminathan emphasised the need intensify awareness campaign in the villages on the use of bio gas and said that more biogas plants should be set up.<br/><br/>The Grameen Gyaan Abhiyan or the Rural Knowledge centre movement was launched in 2007 with the aim of setting up a knowledge centre in every village in the country. <br/>
