West Bengal Textiles Minister Shyamapada Mukherjee has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) which is probing the multi-crore rupee Saradha Chit Fund scam.

Mr. Mukherjee told news persons in Kolkata that he has been asked by the Enforcement Directorate to appear before it regarding a sale of land to the Saradha Group which he entered into 2009.

He said, he has been given a week's time to appear.

The move came a day after the Central Bureau of Investigation, which is probing the 10,000 crore rupees scam, raided 30 locations across Delhi, Guwahati, Odisha and Kolkata.

The Enforcement Directorate has attached Saradha Chit Fund's various movable and immovable assets.
