In Kolkata, CBI today arrested former West Bengal Director General of Police Rajat Majumder in connection with his alleged involvement in Saradha chit fund scam. According to CBI sources, Mr. Majumder will be produced before a designated court tomorrow. Earlier, the investigating agency interrogated him for over 3 hours on the matter.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate probing the matter today also interrogated the Rajya Sabha MP of Trinamul Congress Ahmed Hassan Imran for the second time on his alleged involvement in the scam. Imran was the editor of a Bengali News Paper ran by Sardha group. The special crime Branch of CBI today again interrogated Mr. Asif Khan another editor of a Bengali daily run by the Saradha Group.
