Sarabhai performes forlabourers in Dubai

In a novel attempt to use dance, music and theatre for educating and raising social awareness, noted artist and social activist Dr. Mallika Sarabhai performed for workers and labourers in Dubai yesterday. A series of her performances titled ‘Sunahri Yadeen’ were held under the initiative of the Indian Consulate in association with leading construction companies. The performances targeting workers and labourers, who are working in Dubai away from their homeland addressed number of their issues and concerns. The play depicted scenes on the dos and don'ts for the workers, the importance to be a legal worker, the dangers of overspending and to remain focussed on the purpose of working overseas for a living. Large number of workers enthusiastically poured in to witness the hour-long show which brought out various emotions among the audience.The shows were organised in Sonapur, Al Quoz and Jebel Ali, by the Indian Consulate in association with ETA Ascon, Dulsco, Al Faraa, Al Ahmadiah, Arabtech and the Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs, Dubai.<br/> <br/>
