Assam’s Kokrajhar district on Sunday created a new Guinness World Record by planting maximum number of saplings in one hour’s time by hundred volunteers. The volunteers from the Dogra Regiment of the Army and the Eco Task Force, a local environmental organization today planted 40 thousand 8 hundred 85 saplings within an hour in an area of 30 hectares of land at Khalasi, on the bank of Sarmanga river, in Kokrajhar district.The programme was organized by the Forest Department of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).
