The first semifinal match of Santosh Trophy Football Championship between Kerala and Karnataka is underway. Kerala is dominating the initial session and earned series of corners. However, both sides could not score a goal till the reports last came in.
Kerala has shown a very aggressive performance in the matches played in this tournament so far. It advanced to the semi-finals as Group 'A' winners in the final round and got 10 points including three wins and a draw with a score of 11 goals in four matches conceding just three goals.
Speaking to the media ahead of the semi-finals, Bino George, Head Coach of the Kerala team said, his boys are ready to face the challenge posed by formidable Karnataka. However, playing in front of so many fans puts little pressure on the young players. On the other hand, B.B. Thomas, the Karnataka Coach, told the media that the team is a perfect fit.
He admitted that the host team is playing well. Arjun Jayaraj and Captain Jijo Joseph are the best players and above all Kerala have home advantage, but Karnataka team will give their best in the game.
