Sanjeev Khanna remanded in judicial custody till Sept 21 in Sheena murder case

A Mumbai court today remanded Sanjeev Khanna to judicial custody till 21st September. A key accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, Khanna's police custody ended yesterday. However, Mumbai Police could not produce Khanna before the court as he was taken to Kolkata.<br/><br/>Khanna's lawyer Shreyansh Mithare today raised this point and filed an application alleging "illegal" detention. Mithare said not producing Khanna before the court on the day when his remand ends amounts to illegal detention. Magistrate G R Taur has called for a report from the Khar police station in this regard and is likely to hear the application on 10th September.<br/><br/>Yesterday, the court had remanded other key accused, Indrani Mukherjea and her driver Shyam Rai to judicial custody till 21st September while Khanna was taken to Kolkata for producing him in a court there.
