Joint Director General of Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee, Sanjay Mahendroo was released from Tihar jail in New Delhi yesterday. He had been languishing in the prison for the last two month following his arrest for alleged financial irregularities in organising the Queen's Baton relay in London in 2009. Earlier in the day, a Delhi court granted bail to Mahendroo after the CBI failed to file a charge sheet against him within the stipulated 60 days after the FIR was lodged in the case. The court also took into account the Delhi High Court's order, which had on Friday granted bail to co-accused T S Darbari in the case.
