Sania Mirza and her partner Elena Vesnina have entered the semi-finals of the women's doubles in the Wimbledon Tennis championships. In the quarter-finals of the prestigious grand slam tournament in London today, the fourth seeded Indo-Russian pair defeated the Spanish duo of N Llagostera Vives and A Parra Santonja of Spain in three sets 3-6, 6-4, 7-5. Meanwhile, six-time champion Roger Federer has bowed out of the Men's singles. He lost to Jo Wilfried Tsonga of France in five sets. However, another title-aspirant, Novak Djokovic of Serbia has advanced to the semi-finals beating Bernard Tomic of Australia. In the mixed doubles competition today, while the Indian duo of Rohan Bopanna and Sania Mirza will play their second round match, the Indo-Russian combination of Mahesh Bhupathi and Elena Vesnina will be seen in action in the third round.
