Sania Mirza and Leander Paes are on course for a Australian Open showdown as they reached the mixed doubles semifinals with their respective partners in Melbourne today. Sania partnering with Brazil's Bruno Soares had an easy outing against the unseeded Australian pair of Casey Dellacqua and John Peers, beating them 6-2, 6-2 in the quarterfinals. Sania and Soares had won the US Open title last year. They now await winners of the other last-eight match between third seeds Kristina Mladenovic-Daniel Nestor and fifth seeds Cara Black-Juan Sebastian Cabal. Sania is eyeing her fourth Grand Slam mixed doubles title and the second one at Melbourne. The Indo Swiss pair of Leander Paes and Martina Hingis registered an easy straight set victory over fourth seeds Andrea Hlavackova from Czech Republic and Austria's Alexander Peya 6-3, 6-1. Paes and Hingis will face either Taipei's Su-Wei Hsiehand Pablo Cuevas from Uruguay or second seeds Katarina Srebotnik from Slovakia and Marcelo Melo from Brazil. Meanwhile, in the boys singles, Sumit Nagal's campaign ended with a crushing 1-6 1-6 defeat against Australia'sMarc Polmans in the third round.
