At Indian Wells in United States yesterday, the second seeded pair defeated Timea Bacsinszky and Alberta Brianti in three sets 6-1 3-6 10-2 in the second round. The Indo-Russian pair next face Argentine duo of Gisela Dulko and Paola Suarez in the last-eight stage match. Sania is out of the singles event after losing the second round match against Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain.
