Indian Tennis Star Sania Mirza has advanced to the Japan Open semifinals as her French rival Marion Bartoli retired midway through the quarterfinal due to a right shoulder injury. Sania was in control of the hour-long play in Osaka in Japan. She was leading by 6-4, 2-0 by the time Bartoli pulled herself from the match. Sania will face fourth seed Francesca Schiavone in the semifinal. They have played twice before, with the Italian losing the first set in both meetings but coming back to win both in three setters.
