Both players had recently met in the Australian Open Final, with Federer getting the better of Nadal in a five-setter to bag his record 18th Grand Slam Men's Singles trophy.World number two Novak Djokovic and Kei Nishikori were also among those who entered the Round-of-16.In the Women's Singles, Venus Williams, Garbine Muguruza, Angelique Kerber and Svetlana Kuznetsova made it to the quarter-finals.
