Sania-Hingis to begin their campaign at French Open

In Tennis, Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis will today begin their campaign at the French Open – the second Grand Slam of the season – in Paris. In the opening round, the top seeded Indo-Swiss pair will take on the Russian team of Daria Kasatkina and Alexandra Panova. Sania and Hingis, known as Santina, are the reigning Wimbledon, US Open, and Australian Open champions. With the victory in this French Open, they will become the first team to clinch a Non-Calendar Year Grand Slam since the Williams Sisters – Serena and Venus – in 2010. Sania and Hingis have won 14 titles together and 5 this year.In Men's Doubles, Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna, with their team-mates, will be seen in action in the first round today. Paes has been paired with Marcin Matkowski of Poland and they are seeded 16th. Bopanna and his Romanian team-mate Florin Mergea are placed 6th. In the Singles, world number two Andy Murray, Agnieszka Radwanska, Stanislas Wawrinka, Petra Kvitova, Simona Halep, Garbine Muguruza and Kei Nishikori are among the players who will be seen in action in the second round today.
