India's Sania Mirza recorded her first victory of the 2012 season, as she downed Japanese Ayumi Morita 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 in the opening round of the Pattaya Open Women's Tennis tournament in Thailand. The unseeded Indian took one hour and 32 minutes to tame her rival.In the second round, Sania will face Anne Keothavong of England. Sania had played in Auckland and Australian Open before this tournament and had lost in the qualifiers and first round respectively.In the Doubles section, Sania along with her Australian partner Anastasia Rodionova made it to the second round after beating the French pair of Iryna Bremond and Caroline Garcia in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2. The Indo-Aussie combine will next play the Thai duo of Varunya Wongteanchai and Varatchaya Wongteanchai.
