Sangeet Natak Akademi has selected six eminent personalities in the field of music, dance and drama for Akademi Ratna (fellows). <br/><br/>They are Lalgudi Jayaraman, Shreeram Lagoo, Yamini Krishnamurti, Kamlesh Dutt Tripathi, Pandit Jasraj and Kishori Amonkar. The Akademi also selected 33 persons from different fields for Sangeet Nataka Akademi Awards. <br/><br/>Prominent among them include Hindustani Vocal Music artists Abdul Rashik Khan and Vasundhara Komkali, Tabla player, Lachman Singh Seen, Shehnai player Ali Ahmad Hussain and Carnatic Vocal Singer Prasala B. Ponnammal. While the Akademi Ratnas carry a cash prize of 3 lakh rupees, the sangeet natak awardees will get rupees one lakh.
