China has reiterated that sanctions against Iran are not the way to resolve the dispute over its nuclear programme despite indications from the Americans that Beijing and Washington had agreed to push jointly for new action against Teheran. The Foreign Ministry said China had always believed negotiation was the best way to solve the issue, not pressure and sanctions. Earlier, the White House said the two sides had instructed their diplomats to work on potential sanctions against Iran.<br/>
