US computer giant Apple has won more than $1 billion against South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung in one of the biggest patent cases in decades. A US court rejected Samsung's counterclaims against Apple on Friday. Apple had claimed that its iconic iPhone and iPad have been illegally copied by Samsung. The jury at San Jose in California ruled Samsung had infringed on a number of patents. The verdict affects patents on a range of Samsung products, including some of its popular Galaxy smartphones and its Galaxy 10 tablet — devices alleged to have been copied from the iPhone and iPad.However, a similar dispute between the two companies in South Korean capital Seoul has gone in favour of Samsung. Judges in Seoul said Samsung did not copy the look and feel of the iPhone and ruled that Apple infringed on Samsung's wireless technology.
