In South Korea, the heir to the Samsung empire and four other top executives were indicted today on multiple charges including bribery and embezzlement. Spokesman for the Special Prosecutor's office, probing the corruption and power abuse scandal, said they have indicted the Group's Vice chairman Lee Jae-Yong for bribery, embezzlement, hiding of assets overseas and perjury. His colleagues face similar charges except for the perjury count.<br/><br/>Among other allegations, Lee is accused of paying nearly 40 million US dollars in bribes to a confidante of impeached President Park Geun-hye to secure policy favours. Lee was arrested earlier this month over his alleged role in the corruption scandal that saw the President's impeachment.
