Dr. Samir Ravikant Damare, of the National Institute of Oceanography, has been awarded the Young Scientist Award of CSIR in the field of Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean and Planetary Sciences. <br/><br/>Dr Samir’s pioneering contribution in demonstrating presence of fungi in deep sea sediments and the role they play in the environment has been acknowledged for the award. He will be presented with a citation, cash prize and a plaque during the 68th Annual CSIR Foundation Day Celebration to be held on 26th September in New Delhi.<br/>
