Sameer Verma enters semifinals of Orleans Open

At the Palais des sports which is an indoor sports complex in the city of Orleans, the Indian recorded a hard-fought win over local hope Lucas Corvee in three games 17-21, 21-19, 21-15. 

The match lasted an hour and eight minutes. The top-seeded Sameer will next face fourth-seeded  Mark Caljouw of the Netherlands.   

In another fixture, fifth-seeded Parupalli Kashyap lost 18-21, 14-21 to third-seeded Rasmus Gemke of Denmark.

In the men's doubles, the Indian pair of Francis Alwin and K Nandagopal also suffered a 21-19, 14-21, 8-21 loss to third-seeded German combo of Mark Lamsfuss and Marvin Emil Seidel.
