In Uttar Pradesh, several Samajwadi party leaders were arrested late last night from Kunda police station area by Pratapgarh District police. They include Member of Parliament from Kaushambi Shailendra Kumar, MLAs Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya and Vinod Saroj, MLC Akshya Pratap Singh and seven others. The Supritendetnt of police, Pratapgarh O P Sagar told AIR Allahabad correspondent that all of them have been arrested under various sections Indian Penal Code. The police has charged them with kidnapping, dacoity and violence. According to police, they allegedly beaten up the supporters of a BSP candidate for block Pramaukh election going to be held on Wednesday. Illegal arms have also been seized from their vehicles. Meanwhile, the state Samajwadi Party spokesperson Rajendra Chowdhary condemn the arrest of party MP and MLAs. He told our Correspondent that ruling Bahaujan Samaj Party has been trying to frame false charges against Samajwadi party leaders and workers througathout the state. He said that BSP government has lodged more than one lakh cases against SP workers throughout the state since it came to power.
