In Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party today expelled its three leaders including one sitting MLC and former Minister and two former legislators from the party for their alleged anti-party activities during the just concluded Assembly elections.
A party spokesperson told AIR Lucknow correspondent that former state Minister and MLC, Khwaja Haleem has been expelled from the party for allegedly opposing official candidate in assembly elections in Aligarh. Similarly former MLC Ram Naresh Yadav and former MLA Manik Chand Yadav have been expelled for not supporting party candidate in Etawah and Mainpuri districts respectively.
AIR Correspondent reports that a day earlier, party high command had removed Rajiv Rai, national Secretary of the party from his post, seeking explanation for his anti- party activities. The Chief Minister designate Akhilesh Yadav has also instructed the officials to remove the huge hoardings that had mushroomed in the state capital overnight congratulating Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav.
A missive was sent to the Lucknow Municipal Corporation and most hoardings had been ripped off. The Corporation has decided to slap fines and notices on whoever puts up hoardings.
