Samajwadi party expels Amar Singh, Jaya Prada

Samajwadi party has expelled former General Secretary Amar Singh and sitting MP Jaya Prada from the primary membership of the party.<br/><br/>The decision was taken on Tuesday in a meeting of Parliamentary board of the party held at Lucknow under the chairmanship of Mulayam Singh Yadav.<br/><br/>AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that the party said that both the leaders were working in favour of capitalist and communalist forces which was against the basic policies of the party.<br/><br/>Samjwadi Party also suspended its four MLAs from Uttar Pradesh from the primary membership of the partyfor allegdly supporting Amar singh and Jaya Prada.<br/><br/>These are Mr. Madan Chauhan, Sandeep Aggarwal, Ashok Chandel and Santosh Singh . Spokesman of the party Mr. Mohan Singh told media persons on Tuesday afternoon at Lucknow that Amar Singh has damaged the party. He said, his entry into the party was a conspiracy of capitalist and communalist forces who were interested in damaging the basic structure of the Samajwadi Party.<br/><br/>He said that Samajwadi party leadership will try to bring all socialist leaders under one umbrella. He said that a state level convention of the party will be held this month in Lucknow. <br/><br/>Reacting to his expulsion from his party Mr. Amar singh said that he had never opposed the party leadership and the suggestions given by him were only to strengthen the Party. He said that the suggestions he made included support to the Women Reservation Bill and trifurcation of the State for the speedy development of different areas of the Uttar Pradesh. <br/><br/>Strongly criticising the Samajwadi party spokesman Mr. Mohan Singh, he said that he has no mass base and that is why he was not able to win the previous election.
