Salaries of Delhi MLAs, ministers doubled

Salaries of Delhi MLAs and Ministers were on Monday hiked by almost double as Delhi Legislative Assembly passed Salaries, Allowance and pensions Amendment Bills for Ministers and MLAs.An MLA who currently gets nearly 42,000 rupees per month, including all incentives, will get nearly one lakh rupees while the monthly emolument of a minister will go up to one lakh 30 thousand rupees from the current level 60,000 rupees a month.The MLAs who get 500 rupees per day when the Assembly is in session will now get a daily allowance of 1,000 rupees throughout the year. The monthly constituency allowance of MLAs has been increased to 18,000 from 8,000 rupees.The basic salary of MLAs has been increased from 6,000 to 12,000 rupees while basic salary of ministers has been hiked to 20, 000 rupees from the level of 10,000 rupees per month.Apart from basic salary, the Delhi Ministers will get 20,000 rupees House allowance instead of 10000 rupees, one thousand rupees for Daily allowance from the earlier 500 rupees. The constituency allowance has also been increased to 18,000 rupees.
