Indian women team registered its best-ever performance at the Asian Wrestling Championship returning with eight medals in New Delhi. Sakshi Malik claimed a silver today while Vinesh Phogat dominated her bronze medal play-off after losing to Mayu Mukaida.
The Indian team had won only one gold medal before this edition but Divya, Pinki and Sarita Mor won three on the opening day while Nirmala Devi came out second best. Today Sakshi's 65 kg, silver and bronze medals won by Vinesh Phogat in 53 kg, young Anshu Malik in 57 kg and Gursharan Preet Kaur in 72 kg categories added to India's tally.
