Saina, Sindhu, Kashyap play in pre-qfs of World Badminton Ch'ships today

At the World Badminton Championships in China today, India's ace shuttler Saina Nehwal will clash with 15th seed Thai Porntip Buranaprasertsuk in the pre-quarterfinals of Women's Singles event.. Saina started her campaign by beating Olga Golovanova of Russia 21-5, 21-4 yesterday. In another pre-quarterfinals in the same category, PV Sindhu will take on second seed Wang Yihan of China. Sindhu beat Kaori Imabeppu of Japan 21-19, 19-21, 21-17 to enter the third round.In the Men's Singles pre-quater finals, 13th seed Parupalli Kashyap will lock horns with Yun Hu of China. Kashyap entered the third round yesterday after his second-round opponent Petr Koukal retired midway through the contest. However, Ajay Jayaram lost to Abian of Spain in the second round 9-21, 17-21.In the men's doubles competition, Tarun Kona and Arun Vishnu crashed out in the second round.
