Saina set for Singapore Super Series

Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal will look to put behind the disappointment of the Thailand Open quarterfinal defeat when she begins her title defence in the Singapore Super Series starting tomorrow. The Singapore Super Series is one of the three titles the world number four Indian won on the trot in June last year. The fourth seed will start her campaign against world number 24 Chinese Lu Lan. In the men's singles, it will be an uphill task for top Indian shuttler P. Kashyap as he faces eighth seed Korean Sung Hwan Park in the opening round. Commonwealth Games gold medallist pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa, who lost in the first round of the Thailand Open, will face Kyung Eun Jung and Ha Na Kim of Korea in the opening round. In the men's doubles, Indian pair of Rupesh Kumar and Sanave Thomas will lock horns with Japanese combo of Hiroyuki Endo and Kenichi Hayakawa in the first round.
