Saina Nehwal has entered the second round of the Women's Singles at the French Open Super Series badminton tournament. In the first round in Paris on Wednesday, the World Number Four defeated Li Han of China in three games 21-11, 16-21, 21-19. In the second round, Saina Nehwal will meet Sapsiree Taerattanachai of Thailand. Fresh from her maiden Denmark Open title triumph, the Indian ace is seeking to clinch her fifth title of the year. However, three Indian players bowed out from the Men's Singles event. In the first round, Sourabh Verma lost to Sony Dwi Kuncoro of Indonesia in straight games 20-22, 16-21. Two others, Arvind Bhat and Anand Pawar were eliminated in the qualifying rounds. In Women's Doubles, the Indian pair of Tarun Kona and Ashwini Ponnappa lost to Patiphat Chalardchaleam and Savitree Amitrapai of Thailand 18-21, 15-21.
