India's ace shuttler Saina Nehwal, last night, missed by a whisker from making it to the finals of the Swiss Open Badminton tournament, for the third consecutive time. In the Women's Singles semi-finals at Basel, defending champion and top seed, Saina went down fighting to China's fourth seed Shixian Wang, 11-21, 21-10, 9-21. With this, India's campaign in the tournament has come to an end. Saina had been the winner of the Swiss Open last year and the year before.
