Saina Nehwal crashes out, Kashyap sails into Indonesian Open semis

Saina Nehwal has bowed out the Indonesian Open Super Series Badminton tournament. In the quarterfinal in Jakarta today, she lost to China's Shixian Wang in three sets 21-16, 12-21, 18-21. In the Men's singles, Parupalli Kashyap entered the semifinals. Continuing his giant-killing spree, the Indian rallied to shock World No. 1 Chen Long to make the last four grade. Kashyap, ranked 12th in the world, beat the top seeded Chinese 14-21, 21-17, 21-14 in a contest that lasted an hour and three minutes. Coming into this match, Long had a 7-1 head-to-head record against Kashyap. Kashyap's last victory against Long also came in this very tournament in 2012.
