Saina eyes Number One ranking

Indian Badminton ace Saina Nehwal today said, she is now aiming to be the world Number One by the end of this year. Speaking at a felicitation ceremony organised by Indian Council for Agricultural Research in New Delhi, Saina said, she is trying not to get swayed by the media attention following her rise to Number Three in world ranking. Saina won a hat-trick of titles – the Indian Open Grand Prix Gold and the Singapore Open Super Series before defending the Indonesian Open Series in Jakarta recently. Citing her rigorous training schedule, Saina said that the journey to the top has not been very easy. She said that she is focussing on the forthcoming World Championships, Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games. Attributing all the success to her parents and coach, she said that they had faced many hardships in providing her training.
