In her opening match of the Women's singles in Jakarta yesterday, the top Indian shuttler defeated Linda Zechiri of Bulgaria in straight games, 21-12, 21-10. In the women's doubles, the pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa overcame their rivals from the Netherlands in the first round.
