Public sector Steel Authority of India Ltd, SAIL is holding talks with Railways to set up a Metro Rail coach factory in West Bengal. This was disclosed by the SAIL Chairman C S Verma in a statement. The West Bengal government has suggested Singur as a site for the same. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, the SAIL has expressed interest to set up a coach factory of the Metro Rail and she will be happy if Railways, SAIL and the state government jointly set up the same at Singur.
