Eight poetry collections, four novels, three short story collections, four books on literary criticism, one travelogue, one autobiography and one play have been selected for this year's prestigeous Sahitya Akademi Award. Among the prominent award winner include: Rahamath Tarikeri for Marathi, Mohan Das- Hindi ,M.P.Virendra Kumar – Malayalam, Bashar Bashir – Kashmiri, Manoj – Dogri, Laxman Dubey – Sindhi, Nanjil Nandan -Tamil and Sheen Kaaf Nizam for Urdu. The award carried a plaque, a shawl and a cheque of one lakh rupees. The awards will be conferred at a function in New Delhi on 15th of February, 2011 by Sahitya Akademi.
