Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav tonight announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 10 lakhs each for the family of deceased in Saharanpur violence and crash of an IAF chopper in Sitapur.

According to an official statement in Lucknow, Mr Yadav, expressing his condolence, has announced compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to the family members of the seven IAF officials killed in a chopper crash in Sitapur yesterday.

The Chief Minister also expressed his grief over violence in Saharanpur today and announced Rs 10 lakh each to the family of the deceased.He also announced that Rs 50,000 each would be given to the 24 injured in the violence.

Mr Yadav said that guilty people in the violence would not be spared and said that 18 companies of security forces have been rushed to Saharampur and its adjoining areas to control violence.
