Sahara to SC: Deals to sell luxury hotels on the verge of collapse

Sahara group chief Subrata Roy has told the Supreme Court that the deals to sell the luxury hotels have hit a roadblock and are on the verge of collapse. He has sought 10 days' time to sell the properties to raise Rs. 10, 000 crore to be deposited with Securities & Exchange Board of India, SEBI, to get bail. Roy asked the bench to consider his plea for extension of time on Monday. On August 1, the apex court had allowed Roy and two directors of his group to use the conference room in Tihar jail complex for 10 days from August 5 to hold negotiations with potential buyers. This time period was further extended for 15 days on August 14.
