On the ongoing eight SAFF Football Championship Afghanistan defeated Bhutan 3-0 today. In the group B match played at Halchowk Stadium in Kathmandu today Haron Fakhruddin opened the score for Afghanistan in the 37th minute with Mustafa Haida scoring in the 77th minute. The stronger Afghan team scored again with Hasmatullah Mohammad scoring in the 87 th minute. While Bhutan did put a good contest early the Afghan proved to be too strong for the minnows. In the second group B match Sri Lanka will take on Maldives in Dasarath Stadium.
