Afghanistan has entered in the semi-finals of the SAFF Football Championship. In a Group 'A' match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on wednesday, they beat Bhutan by 8-1. Afghanistan ended the Group stage with seven points from three matches. India is now playing against Sri Lanka in their last Group 'A' encounter. The hosts, who top the Group, just need a draw against Sri Lanka to seal their semi-final berth. Nepal and Maldives moved into the last four stages yesterday from Group 'B'.
