SadhviJoyti's remark: PM says Minister has apologized, appeals members to allow LS to function

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today appealed to members in the Lok Sabha to allow the House to function. Making a statement in the Lok Sabha on controversial remarks made by Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, the Prime Minister said that the Minister has already apologized. He said that he has already cautioned that that sort of language is unacceptable. Mr Modi said, the minister is a first-time member and comes from a rural background. He said the House should allow the matter to rest now as the Minister has already apologized. In this context, Prime Minister thanked the Opposition for allowing the House to conduct its scheduled business for the last three days. Earlier, opposition members belonging to Congress, Samajwadi Party and Trinamool Congress staged a walk out demanding the sacking of the Minister Niranjan Jyoti. The agitating members tied black clothes around their mouths.
