With all the results declared in Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal and BJP alliance posted victory again combating incumbency and other factors. SAD won 56 seats and its ally BJP 12 seats taking their tally to 68 in the 117 member assembly. Congress has got 46 and others three. SAD leader Sukhbir Singh Badal had announced that Prakash Singh Badal will be Punjab Chief Minister again.

Besides him, the prominent winners are Sukhbir Singh Badal, SAD, former Chief Ministers M Rajinder Kaur Battal, and Capt. Amrinder Singh both Congress. Former SGPC Chief Bibi Jagir Kaur has also won from Bholath constituency. Mrs. Navjot Siddhu of BJP won the Amritsar seat.
