Cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar met Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today and discussed the Sarita Devi controversy. Sarita Devi faces a possible ban by the International Boxing Association, AIBA for refusing to accept the bronze medal during the Incheon Asian Games medal ceremony.Tendulkar said the meeting was on how to move forward on the issue and request AIBA to show leniency on the boxer. He said the entire country should support Sarita. The cricketer said, being a fellow sportsperson, he understands how Sarita Devi must have felt. Earlier, Tendulkar, who is a Rajya Sabha MP, had appealed against the life ban on her by AIBA.
