India finished the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships with one gold and a bronze medal in St Peterburg, Russia today. The gold was struck today by World Junior bronze-medallist Sachin Singh in the 49 kilogram category. The 16-year-old outpunched his more fancied rival 5-0 to record a rare Indian triumph over Cuban national champion Jorge Grinan in the summit clash. With this feat, Sachin joined Thokchom Nanao Singh and Vikas Krishan in the Indian youth world championships gold club. Naman Tanwar had settled for a bronze in the 91 kilogram category after losing in the semifinal yesterday. India's current medals tally is a marked improvement from the solitary bronze won in the 2014 edition.
