Sachin Tendulkar has been rested from the Indian squad for the Asia Cup ODI cricket tournament. The event is to be held at Dambulla in Sri Lanka from June 15. Tendulkar had requested the Selectors to spare him from the tournament, which also features Pakistan, Bangladesh and hosts Sri Lanka. Although the team has not yet been officially announced after the Selection Committee met in New Delhi this afternoon, top BCCI sources said out-of-form batsman Yuvraj Singh has been dropped. India will open their campaign against Bangladesh on June 16. They will meet Pakistan on June 19, and their last match against Sri Lanka is slated for June 22.
