Minister of State for Communication and IT Sachin Pilot today launched Fiber to the Home Technology from Ajmer in Rajasthan. With this technology people would get high speed broadband, telephone and 130 TV channels through a single fiber. This fiber technology will replace copper wires and provide world- wide class facilities. Mr.Pilot said that it will be expanded in small cities by BSNL soon. He announced that mobile number portability service will be available in the country from 20th January next year.
